Todays look of the day is inspired by the business casual working girl. As the temps rise the need to be comfortable and business appropriate skates a fine line. Things like sleeveless tops and open toed shoes can be frowned upon in some offices while others are more open to interpretation. That being said shorts are NEVER appropriate and sandals are forbidden. Unless you work for some quirky ad agency - those two are BIG no no's. Another thing women tend to shy away from when it comes to work is color. Trust me when I say color can be your BEST friend and I think this look proves that. And as I said last week - us working gals tend to be on a budget so everything in this look (minus the insane cobalt clutch) is under $100! What do you think? I know the shoes are a little crazy but would you wear this look?

It's almost Mother's Day - meaning it's time to start looking for a special gift for the one woman who has always been there for you. I included the necessary beauty items such as a sweet smelling candle for her Sunday bubble bath full of Philosophy flower soap. You could go for the adorable lip and nail products that are tried and true of this seasons spring color trends. And of course a Mom could always wear a comfy tunic while she's sitting on the beach this summer reading Gwyneth Paltrow's new cookbook. There is always a more personalized item like the monogrammed key fob or a cute coffee mug. You could never go wrong with an Apple product or some arm candy like the bangles above. I know my mother would love some golfing apparel like the adorable hot pink tees or wrist watch to make sure she's not late for her tee time. I adore the bright orange bag from Zara, super affordable too! Of course going simple will always keep Mom happy - with a card, a smile and some peonies - they say I Love You.
To me a mother is someone who dreams great dreams for you, but then she lets you chase the dreams you have for yourself and loves you just the same. Here is to all the wonderful mothers out there who live, work and dream for their kids. I love you, Mom.
What does your mother mean to you?

The sun was finally shining yesterday - and I took full advantage. The spring-like temps have me inspired so I put together a couple of buttercup yellow - colored goodies. It's that season appropriate color that really POPS - and it seems to always put a smile on my face.
I also want to say a big thank you to all of the readers who have been keeping up with my blog. This new creative outlet is certainly hard work - but very worth it - and I appreciate anyone and everyone who takes the time to check it out! In the upcoming weeks I will be wrapping up my semester and starting some new series. So subscribe! And keep coming back :)
